Example 6. 3270 Emulation via an SNA Gateway over a TCP/IP Network

Follow these steps to establish communication between the Windows® 8, Windows® 8.1, or Windows® 10 Workstation (Node C) and the VTAM® host (Node A).
For VTAM® Node A, add the following entry to the HOSTS
file:
10.1.1.2 CP2.NETA.SNA.IBM.COM
10.1.1.2 DEPLU1.NETA.SNA.IBM.COMFor Windows® Server 2008 Node B, add
the following entry to the HOSTS file:
10.1.1.3 CP1.NETA.SNA.IBM.COM
10.1.1.1 CP3.NETA.SNA.IBM.COMFor Windows® 8, Windows® 8.1, or Windows® 10
Node C, do as follows:
- Add the following entry to the local HOSTS file:
10.1.1.2 CP2.NETA.SNA.IBM.COM - Create a workstation profile using the Personal Communications configuration tool:
- Click the Start/Configure Session icon; or click Configure from the Communication menu. The Customize Communication window is displayed.
- Select the following options:
- Host: zSeries™
- Interface: AnyNet®
- Attachment: TCP/IP LU 0,1,2,3
- Click Configure.
- Click Configure Link.
- On the Configure Local System window, enter:
PC Location Name:
NETA.CP1 - On the Configure AnyNet® Connection window, enter:
- SNA domain name suffix:
SNA.IBM.COM - Fully qualified CP name:
NETA.CP2
- SNA domain name suffix:
- Save your workstation profile.
