leftAlign
The leftAlign build descriptor option
is used when you generate a form group. The option indicates whether
to left-justify the output data on text- or print-form fields that
have the following characteristics:
- The align field property is set to left
- The field is of one of these types: CHAR, DBCHAR, or MBCHAR.
If you do not need left alignment during output, specify no to give better performance and to reduce the code size.
Left alignment strips leading spaces and places them at the end of the field.
If you have reason to regenerate your text forms and want to retain the field characteristics that were in effect in EGL versions before mid 2012, set the following symbolic parameters to NO: ALLOWTUILEFTALIGN, ALLOWTUISETFORMITEMFULL, and ALLOWTUIFILLWITHNULLS.
Values
- YES (the default value)
- Left-justify the output data.
- NO
- Do not left-justify the output data.
