VSAM support

When you are writing code in EGL and intend to access a VSAM file, create a Record part that is based on one of the following stereotypes:

IndexedRecord: To access a VSAM Key Sequenced Data Set (KSDS).
RelativeRecord: To access a VSAM Relative Record Data Set (RRDS).
SerialRecord: To access a VSAM Entry Sequence Data Set (ESDS).

The resource association file types that provide VSAM access are vsam, vsamrs, and ibmcobol, as described in Resource association parts.

Remote VSAM support

To access remote VSAM files on z/OS® when you debug EGL programs on Windows™, do as follows:

Satisfy the access prerequisites
Provide resource association information and reference the resource association part from the build descriptor that you use for debugging your program

Two access methods are available: TCP/IP and DFM, as described in the reference topics.
