TIME columns
In a File Manager/Db2 editor session, the display format for TIME columns depends on the setting of the External Format for TIME Data Type Columns System Option.
If you edit a TIME column, you can enter a time in any format recognized by Db2®. FM/Db2 converts the time you enter into the appropriate display format.
If you enter times in USA format (hh.mm AM
or PM
),
the absence of second information means that the time is stored
internally as hh.mm.00 (that is, the seconds portion is always set
to zero). This can cause unexpected results when comparing different
TIME columns that have the same display format but different internal
representations with respect to seconds.
