CICS AS REST Service Provider

IBM Business Developer (IBD) allows business developers to use the REST API functionality and can use CICS as a service, or CICS can be used as a service provider. The EGL-generated COBOL will be connected through CICS and a tool z/OS Connect EE. The COBOL program can be called using the Rest API, and the required output details can be seen on the screen. The purpose of this document is to share information about the creation of archive files (SAR, AAR) from the API Toolkit, which will be used to send requests and capture responses.

Specifications:

IBM Business Developer (IBD – V971 or above).
z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition.
Knowledge of developing a program using EGL and IBD.
Knowledge of generating COBOL programs from EGL.
