Upgrading from Earlier Versions of Host On-Demand

Upgrade installation from earlier release of Installation Manager Host On-Demand version is installed on host.

If you have a previous version of Host On-Demand, such as Host On-Demand V11.0, there is no direct migration path from Host On-Demand V11 to Host On-DemandV14.0, V16.0 and versions above. Follow these steps to migrate:
  1. You need to take a backup of all customized files from the previous Host On-Demand directories, specifically from the private directory and any client pages created with the Deployment Wizard. These files can be reused on Host On-Demand V13.0 and above.
  2. Uninstall all existing Host On-Demand V11.0 installations.
  3. The initial Host On-Demand and above install requires that an empty path be available. Therefore, you can either rename or delete any existing folders or directories where an earlier version is previously installed.
  4. Install Host On-Demand using the IBM Installation Manager. It is recommended not to click Cancel when an installation is in progress.
  5. Restore the private directory to the Host On-Demand folders or directories.
  6. Edit any clients created with the Deployment Wizard with the Host On-Demand Deployment Wizard and deploy to the Host On-Demandserver.

To upgrade from Installation Manger Host On-Demand (v14 or v13) to Installanywhere Host On-Demand (v15) following are the requirement:
