Customizing to invoke other File Manager components from FM/CICS

You can allow users to invoke File Manager base function, or FM/Db2 or FM/IMS (if installed), from the FM/CICS primary option menu. To do this you customize your File Manager base function security, using RACF® (or your equivalent security product), to give the user IDs running FM/CICS a minimum of read access to the facility groups, FILEM.CICS.BASE, FILEM.CICS.IMS or FILEM.CICS.DB2, as appropriate. For information about these facility groups, see Controlling access. For more information about FM/IMS security, see Customizing the FM/IMS security environment.

If you provide this access then the FM/CICS primary option menu will include the functions FMN (for File Manager base function), FM/IMS, and FM/Db2. These functions can then be invoked through the FM/CICS interface.

If you do not provide this access, then these functions will not appear on the menu, and will not be available.

Note: If you plan to run the File Manager base function interface through the FM/CICS session, you must first complete the installation and customization of File Manager base function as described in Customizing File Manager. If you plan to run the FM/IMS interface through the FM/CICS session, you must first complete the installation and customization of FM/IMS as described in Customizing File Manager IMS Component. If you plan to run the FM/Db2 interface through the FM/CICS session, you must first complete the installation and customization of FM/Db2 as described in Customizing File Manager Db2 Component.
