File Manager provides several enhancements to the basic facilities that are available in an ISPF session: Enhanced Reference List, Enhanced Search, Enhanced Change, and PDSE Workbench.

  You can enhance normal processing of a number of File Manager tasks by supplying a procedure that runs in conjunction with the File Manager process.

    There are two methods of setting up the enhanced ISPF commands.

    - Enhanced Search command panel
      You can run all the options of the EFind command from the panel. File Manager maintains a history of the last 50 commands.
    - Enhanced Search member hit selection list panel
      This panel appears if a successful enhanced search is performed with the List option specified.

      You can run all the options of the EChange command from the panel. File Manager maintains a history of the last 50 commands.

  - Indexed search
    Use the indexed search to search for words in one or more partitioned data sets that are not load libraries. The search uses an index that contains all of the words and the occurrences of each word in a group of data sets.
  - PDSE Workbench
    Use PDSE Workbench to manage members of all PDS and PDSE data sets, including member generations.

- Function and panel reference lists

Line Commands

S: When the primary panel is the enhanced search command panel, this will select the member for the previous panel and return to that panel. When the primary panel is the list panel, this will edit the member.
F: Displays the enhanced search command panel with the reference member field populated with the corresponding member name. Only available when the primary panel is the list panel.
C: Displays the enhanced change command panel with the reference member field populated with the corresponding member name. Only available when the primary panel is the list panel.
L: ISPF data set list. The first word of each line in the corresponding member will be examined and if it refers to a catalogued or generic data set name, then it will be added to the list. A maximum of 30 data sets can be displayed.
U: UNIX Directory List. The first word of each line in the corresponding member will be examined and if it refers to a UNIX path or file name, then it will be added to the list. A maximum of 30 data sets can be displayed.
E: Edits the member.
V: Views the member.
I: Inserts a new member.
R: Renames the member.
