When you select Erase Tape, the Erase Tape panel shown in Figure 1 is displayed. This panel allows you to

Erase Tape:
Writes two tape marks at the current tape position
Erases the remaining tape data to the end of the tape (data security
erase)
Rewinds the tape
Erase Tape can be used only with tape units that support the data
security erase I/O command code, such as the IBM® 3400 series.
