Testing the import process

This topic provides an overview of the steps you should follow to test the import process.

Before importing all data into a Rational® ClearQuest® database, test the entire import process on a subset of the data:

Create a test database.
Export a subset of the data to a Rational® ClearQuest® import file.
Run the Import wizard to import the data.
Work with the data in the Rational® ClearQuest® client to determine whether the import schema functions as expected.
Modify the import schema as necessary, and test the process again.
