File Transfer
When transferring files between the workstation and the host, you
can select one of two workstation code pages:
- 864
- IBM® PC Arabic code page
- 1256
- Microsoft® Arabic Windows® code page
For code page 1256 only, you must set the parameter for the orientation of the host file. Set the parameter in the following manner:
- Click Preferences>Transfer from the Edit menu.
- Click the General tab.
- For right-to-left host file orientation, check the HostFileOrientation box. For left-to-right host file orientation, clear the HostFileOrientation box.
- When uploading (sending) an Arabic file to the host, check the Lam-Alef Compression box. When downloading (receiving) an Arabic file from the host, check the Lam-Alef Expansion box.
- Symmetric Swapping is used to reset swappable characters. For example, in a right-to-left string, the "(" and ")" will be reversed.
- The Round Trip option is used to disable the reversal of numerals if they are preceded by Arabic characters.
- For Numerals Shape, select the appropriate shape: Nominal, National, or Contextual.
