Configuring Rational® ClearQuest® Web servers for MAPI

Configure the Rational® ClearQuest® Web server hosts to use the MAPI mail transport

About this task

Important: Starting in Rational® ClearQuest® 8.0.0.3, the Rational® ClearQuest® Email 1.x package and MAPI support are deprecated. For enhanced email support, use the Rational® ClearQuest® EmailPlus 2.1 package. For more information, see EmailPlus package.

If your deployment has multiple Rational® ClearQuest® Web server hosts, you must perform the next steps on each host.

Procedure

  1. Verify that the computer where you plan to install the Rational® ClearQuest® Web server software is in the same domain as your Microsoft™ Exchange Server.
  2. Enable access on the Rational® ClearQuest® Web server host to the domain-user-email account that Rational® ClearQuest® uses to send email notifications.
    1. Log on as a service.
    2. Enable full access to the following registry keys:
      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rational Software\ClearQuest
      • HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Rational Software\ClearQuest
  3. Install Microsoft™ Collaboration Data Objects on the Rational® ClearQuest® Web server host. You can install this software when you install Microsoft™ Outlook or Microsoft™ Office. You must explicitly select Microsoft™ Collaboration Data Objects during the installation.
    Important: Microsoft™ has released many versions of Collaboration Data Objects. You must install a version of Collaboration Data Objects that does not contain the CDO E-Mail Security Update.
