        Setting up full-text search in a Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite deployment
        Setting up full-text search in an Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite deployment is similar to the other scenarios discussed in this section. You set up one full-text search server to serve all of the Rational ClearQuest MultiSite servers. The primary difference is that you must deploy full-text search on the master replica.
        Upgrading or reinstalling Rational® ClearQuest® in a full-text search deployment with multiple WebSphere® profiles
        IBM® Installation Manager does not recognize the WebSphere® Application Server profiles associated with the full-text search feature. Consequently, if you plan to upgrade or reinstall Rational® ClearQuest®, use the cqtsadmin.pl command to back up and delete these profiles. After upgrading or reinstalling Rational ClearQuest, use the cqtsadmin.pl command again to restore the profiles.
        Enabling full-text search on a non-English database
        Enable full-text search on your non-English Rational® ClearQuest® user database by editing the Solr schema.xml file to use the appropriate language analyzer.
        Upgrading Solr to the latest version supported by Rational® ClearQuest®
        You can upgrade Solr to the latest version supported by Rational® ClearQuest®. This is useful when the Solr version in your deployment is older than the version that Rational ClearQuest supports.

    The type-ahead feature enables users to use a choice-list drop-down as a search field to find and select items in the choice-list. This feature must be configured before it can be used. It can also be customized.

Setting up full-text search in a Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite deployment

Setting up full-text search in an Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite deployment is similar to the other scenarios discussed in this section. You set up one full-text search server to serve all of the Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite servers. The primary difference is that you must deploy full-text search on the master replica.

About this task

The full-text search feature works transparently in a Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite deployment. After you enable the feature on the master replica, and the master_properties table is replicated to all the databases in your deployment, all Rational® ClearQuest® Web servers are enabled for full-text search.

If you have secured the Solr administrative console to protect access to the full-text search service as described in Securing the Solr administrative console, ensure that all of the load-balanced Rational® ClearQuest® Web servers can access the Solr search service.
