Enabling Rational® ClearQuest® clients to send email

To take advantage of automatic e-mail notification, each Rational® ClearQuest® client on Windows™ and the UNIX™ system must enable email notification.

To learn how to enable e-mail notification, refer users to the instructions in the Help for the Rational® ClearQuest® client. You must provide users with the email provider parameters, such as the SMTP host address of the mail server or the MAPI profile name.

To use MAPI notification for Windows™ platforms, Collaboration Data Objects must be installed.

Attention: Rational® ClearQuest® Email 1.x and MAPI support have been deprecated. For enhanced email support, use the EmailPlus 2.1 package. For more information, see EmailPlus package.
