Checklist of user tasks on Linux and UNIX system

Before you can use a Rational® ClearQuest® client, you must complete several post-installation tasks. These tasks vary based on the Rational® ClearQuest® client you want to use.

Before you configure the Rational® ClearQuest® client for your local system, gather the following information from the System Administrator for your Rational® ClearQuest® environment:
  • User ID and password credentials for the Rational® ClearQuest® client you plan to use
  • Confirmation that the Rational® ClearQuest® client is deployed in your environment
  • A valid license for running the Rational® ClearQuest® client

All Linux installations require you to install a browser and configure the HOME and PATH variables before you can start the client. Set the MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME environment variable to the browser path, and then add the browser path to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Use these sample commands as a guideline, substituting your browser installation location (/bin/csh):

setenv MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME /usr/local/lib/firefox-2.0.0.3
