Checklist of administrator tasks on Linux™ and UNIX™ systems

Post-installation tasks for administrators on Linux™ and UNIX™ systems are required to configure Rational® ClearQuest® server and client components hosted on these platforms.

Depending on which Rational® ClearQuest® components are installed and configured, Linux™ and UNIX™ systems can provide these Rational® ClearQuest® services:
  • Administer and run the Rational® ClearQuest® Web server and web application to provide access to Rational® ClearQuest® repositories through a web-based interface.
  • Administer a Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite environment.
  • Provide access to the Rational® ClearQuest® Client for users who work solely on Linux™ and UNIX™ system platforms.
  • Integrate with DevOps Code ClearCase®, both base and UCM versions.
Note: You can also host the database management systems for your Rational® ClearQuest® deployment on the Linux™ and UNIX™ platform. For more information, see Plan your Rational ClearQuest database set architecture.
On a Linux™ or UNIX™ host, you can administer only Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite and Rational® ClearQuest® Web server and web application. You must administer other Rational® ClearQuest® components such as Rational® ClearQuest® Administrative Tools and the Rational® ClearQuest® Designer from the Windows™ administrative host.

Depending on Rational® ClearQuest® services that the Linux™ or UNIX™ host is providing, complete the tasks in Required and optional post-installation tasks for the Rational ClearQuest administrator.
