      After Rational® ClearQuest® is installed on the administrative host computer, the administrator must perform a series of tasks to create a Rational ClearQuest environment. There are both required and optional tasks. Required tasks such as creating the database set and connection profiles must be performed before deploying the product to the users. The optional tasks such as applying integration packages can be performed at any time.

      Depending on which Rational® ClearQuest® Client you intend to use, your postinstallation tasks can vary. In all cases, ensure that you have a user ID and password for Rational ClearQuest, the administrator has officially deployed the product, and you are properly licensed. Otherwise, your tasks can range from a basic a login to the web client to configuring an Eclipse Workbench Environment.

Restart other DevOps products

After you restart Rational® ClearQuest®, restart the other IBM® DevOps products in the following order if present:

DevOps Code ClearCase®
DevOps Administrator

In some cases, you can restart these products before you restart the Rational® ClearQuest® servers. Sometimes the Rational® ClearQuest® servers must be restarted first. For example, a DevOps Code ClearCase® UCM Integration with Rational® ClearQuest® does not work unless Rational® ClearQuest® is running.
