Configuring Microsoft™ Access
Microsoft™ Access can be used in a limited capacity with Rational® ClearQuest® for evaluation and testing purposes only. However, it is not supported for production use. Rational® ClearQuest® MultiSite does not support Microsoft™ Access databases.
To use Rational®
ClearQuest® with Microsoft™ Access:
- Create one shared directory with full permissions on the computer that will contain your Microsoft™ Access databases.
- Record the UNC path of the share directory. The path must be of this form:
\\machine_name \share_name\database_directory\
For example:
\\developmentserver\project34share\Clearquestdbs\
The first time you run Rational® ClearQuest®, you are prompted to create a schema repository. Specify the path to the shared directory and provide a file name for the schema repository. The appropriate Microsoft™ Access databases in the shared directory are then created and initialized.
