    - Testing Java™ applications
      You can use Rational® Integration Tester to test Java™ applications.
    - Testing Java™ Message Service (JMS) systems
      Use the generic JMS plug-in to connect Rational® Integration Tester to a wide range of EAI platforms, which includes any vendor that provides an implementation of this Java™ standard. JMS provides a way of separating the application from the transport layer of providing data. The same Java classes can be used to communicate with different JMS providers by using the JNDI information for a specific provider. The classes first use a connection factory to connect to the queue or topic, and then use populate and send or publish the messages. On the receiving side, the clients then receive or subscribe to the messages
    - Testing Java™ objects
      You can import Plain Old Java™ Objects (POJOs) from JAR files into Rational® Integration Tester in order to parse and construct messages containing the serialized forms of those objects. You can construct and parse the Java objects and perform validation, but you cannot test the objects directly.

      You can use Rational® Integration Tester to create tests and stubs by setting up an Apache Camel component in a Rational Integration Tester project.         Configuring a queue manager to use the API exit

        A diverted queue rules namelist is required by Rational® Integration Tester to support sift-and-pass-through stubbing on an IBM® WebSphere® MQ transport. The sift-and-pass-through capability enables Rational Integration Tester to see a message in a queue before the "real" service sees it and determine whether to process it.
        Security settings for MQ agent resources
        If you have enabled security for the queue manager, you must configure certain security settings in the queue manager for the Rational® Integration Tester MQ agent resources to access the Rational Integration Tester intercept queue.
        Additional configuration steps if the Rational® Integration Tester user cannot be given queue create permission
        As of version 9.2.0, Rational® Integration Tester uses queues that are named COM.GREENHAT.INTERCEPT_LCK, COM.GREENHAT.INTERCEPT.<QMGR>_LCK, RIT.DIVERT.RULES_LCK, and RIT.DIVERT.RULES.<QMGR>_LCK. Which of these queues is required depends on your environment. Rational Integration Tester attempts to create these queues automatically when they are first accessed. If you do not allow Rational Integration Tester to create queues, then you must predefine these queues.

Installing API exits on Linux™ for System z®

How to install the API exit on Linux™ for System z®.

Before you begin

Ensure that the following prerequisites are met before you install the API exits:

Obtain the WebSphere® MQ product code for Linux™ on System z® 64-bit.
As a minimum, install MQSeriesServer and MQSeriesRuntime on the WebSphere® MQ server. You can also install MQSeriesSDK and MQSeriesMan. Installing these items provides you with valuable information and resources that can help streamline setting up the exit.
At least one queue manager must be defined for the WebSphere® MQ server.
Ensure that a listener is working for Rational® Integration Tester to use for the SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN channel.

Procedure

Install the files for your version of WebSphere® MQ, found in IBMWebSphereMQdist.zip package:
- For WebSphere® MQ 8.0 and 9.0:
  - intercept_linux_s390
  - intercept_linux_s390_r
  - intercept_linux_s390x
  - intercept_linux_s390x_r
The sample scripts containing the distributed WebSphere® MQ API agent .zip file, can be downloaded from Rational® Test Control Panel.

Note: The s390 exits are 32-bit and the s390x exits are 64-bit.
Copy the 32-bit exits into the /var/mqm/exits directory on the Linux™ for System z® WebSphere® MQ computer, and the 64-bit exits into the /var/mqm/exits64 directory. Ensure that the file permissions match the parent directory permissions.
Create symbolic links for all four of the exit files, by using the names for the Linux™ for System z® exit files (see step 1). For instructions on creating the symbolic links, see Installing API exits on Linux (64-bit).

Note: The instructions for Linux™ for System z® are similar, except that the names for the exits are different.
Create the NameList com.greenhat.intercept. This Namelist is required for the Rational® Integration Tester intercept exit.

Note: If you plan to use the sift-and-pass-through-capability, also create a rit.divert.rules NameList.
Locate the qm.ini file, which is located in the /var/mqm/qmgrs/<queue mgr name> directory, and add the following lines to the end of this file:

Note: For WebSphere® MQ 8.0 and 9.0, the <exit_name> is intercept_linux_s390x (without the "r").
