Installing Rational® Integration Tester Agent by using the launchpad program

You can use the launchpad program to install IBM® Rational® Integration Tester Agent when you want to use the IBM® Rational® Test Virtualization Server or IBM® Rational® Performance Test Server package.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

About this task

Download all the files required for the installation and extract them to a repository location in the recommended structure. After downloading the core installation packages, you must create repository locations that point to the disktag.inf file in each package. If there are multiple packages, you must create repository locations for each package. If a package contains multiple disks, create repository locations pointing to each disktag.inf file or supply the information when prompted during the installation.

By starting the installation process from the launchpad program, Installation Manager is automatically installed if it is not already on your computer, and it starts preconfigured with the repository location of the product package. If you install and start Installation Manager directly, you must set repository preferences manually.

Procedure

  1. Select the method to use to obtain the product software.

The first method involves installing from compressed files, such as .zip or ISO files. Extract the files into a common directory. Extract the disk images to directories that are named /disk1, /disk2, and so on. Extract the Setup disk image to a directory that is named RPTS_SETUP. The Setup disk contains the launchpad executable program.
