Remote VSAM support for z/OS® using TCP/IP

You can use TCP/IP to access remote VSAM files when you run the EGL debugger or when EGL-generated Java™ code is running on any supported platform.

To use TCP/IP to access remote VSAM files, do as follows:

Satisfy the access requirements specified later.
Set up a resource association part and reference that part from the build descriptor that you use for debugging or generating your code.

You can access the file as a local VSAM file in either of the following circumstances:

You normally access the file through CICS® transactions, under the control of CICS®. For setup information, see Installing and configuring remote VSAM support for CICS.
You normally access the file through a batch job. For setup information, see Installing and configuring remote VSAM support for VSAM Connector Server.
