Controlling the use of the PL/I compiler
FILEM.PLI.EXTERNAL If a user ID running File Manager has
CONTROL access or higher to this profile, File Manager always uses the licensed site PL/I
compiler, if available, to compile templates from PL/I copybooks.
If the profile does not exist, or if the user ID has less than CONTROL
access to the profile, File Manager uses the File Manager PL/I compiler.
For more information, see Using a licensed site PL/I compiler and Customizing for processing PL/I include books.
To determine whether the user ID has access to the profile, File Manager issues RACROUTE
requests with STATUS=ACCESS to the FACILITY profiles.
When RACF® is used, the STATUS=ACCESS request works as
documented. No security-related logging or abends occur, even if the user ID does not
have access to the profile.
When a non-RACF security product, such as ACF2, is used, an ABEND S047
might occur in response to the RACROUTE request. If this occurs,
consult the security product documentation and make the required changes.
