  After you have completed the initial installation and customization of File Manager Base function, you can perform the following steps to verify your customization.

File Manager supported software environments

Supported software products that can be used with various File Manager functions in a z/OS® environment:

IBM Enterprise COBOL
IBM Enterprise PL/I (included internally with File Manager and usable only for compiling copybooks)
IBM CICS® Transaction Server for z/OS
IBM Information Management System (IMS™)
IBM Db2®
IBM MQ for z/OS

Install the latest File Manager maintenance to resolve issues that might not be directly associated with the basic support for a software product.

File Manager supports software products with either:

A general availability (GA) release with no maintenance applied.
A GA release with the specified PTF (UInnnnn) or APAR (PHnnnnn) applied.

The following table shows the minimum maintenance level to apply to File Manager V16 for each supported software product.

Note:

The minimum software product level is the level listed in the table or the current minimum level supported by IBM, whichever is most recent.
