Enhanced ISPF: Reference List, Search, Change, and PDSE Workbench
File Manager provides several enhancements to the basic facilities that are available in an ISPF session: Enhanced Reference List, Enhanced Search, Enhanced Change, Indexed Search, and PDSE Workbench.
Indexed search
Use the indexed search to search for words in one or more partitioned data sets that are not load libraries. The search uses an index that contains all of the words and the occurrences of each word in a group of data sets.

General

This dialog defines a new INDEX member. The member can be specified manually in an edit session, or the dialog can be used to generate the INDEX member. The dialog always finishes with an INDEX member edit session. Dialog navigation is as follows:

Press ENTER with the cursor on Done to go directly to the INDEX member edit session and bypass the dialog.
Press ENTER to continue to the INDEX data set definition panel.
Press F3 to exit the dialog.

Field descriptions

Member: The name of the new index definition member to be created. This is the index name.
Description: A brief description of the index being created.
