Customizing File Manager to write audit records to SMF

You can use the audit logging facilities of File Manager to create an audit trail of editing and other activities against data sets, Db2® objects, IMS™ databases and CICS® resources. For more information, refer to:

Audit records can be written to an audit log data set, or to SMF, or both (dual logging). See the topics referred to above for information about restrictions that apply to dual logging.
