Fault Analyzer and CICS global user exits

Fault Analyzer can be installed in either or both of the CICS® global user exits (GLUE) - XPCABND and XDUREQ. Installation in both exits is recommended. If other products are installed in the XDUREQ exit, then Fault Analyzer must also be installed there. This is because, by default, a successful abend analysis by Fault Analyzer through the XPCABND exit suppresses the CICS® transaction dump if the Fault Analyzer is not installed in XDUREQ exit. If the dump is suppressed from XPCABND, CICS® does not invoke any of the XDUREQ exits. When Fault Analyzer is installed in both XPCABND and XDUREQ, it defers dump suppression to XDUREQ, allowing CICS® will invoke XDUREQ exits.

If your environment is such that you require subsequent CICS® dump GLUEs to always be called, or if you require CICS® transaction dumps to always be written, you should do one of the following:
  • Code a Fault Analyzer End Processing user exit and set the ENV.SUPPRESS_DUMP flag to 'N'.
  • Set the RetainCICSDump option to ALL. See RetainCICSDump for more details.
