Designing data-pull reports
The data-pull model allows reporting systems like Business Intelligence and Report Tools (BIRT) to configure data sources and pull data from these sources when the report is run. This approach provides significant flexibility by letting you create reports that use multiple data sources and multiple data sets, and by letting you store and manage reports using an enterprise reporting server.
Data-pull report design using BIRT
You can use the Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) Report Designer to design data-pull reports for Rational® ClearQuest® data sources. You must configure BIRT with the Rational ClearQuest Reporting Driver before you can use it to report on Rational ClearQuest data sources.

  Rational® ClearQuest® Web is a browser-based interface to Rational ClearQuest that runs on Windows, the UNIX system, and Linux. You can track defects and change requests in Rational ClearQuest Web through this interface. When a session times out, you can re-authenticate and continue where you left off because the state of the user interface is retained.

Data-pull report design using BIRT

You can use the Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) Report Designer to design data-pull reports for Rational® ClearQuest® data sources. You must configure BIRT with the Rational® ClearQuest® Reporting Driver before you can use it to report on Rational® ClearQuest® data sources.

To use BIRT with the Rational® ClearQuest® Client, you must download, install, and configure the BIRT reporting tools. Then, add the Rational® ClearQuest® Reporting Driver to the BIRT installation. For more information, see About records.
