About charts
Charts provide a graphical view of query results and are a useful project management tool.
The type of charting capabilities available depends on your Rational® ClearQuest® client.
Rational® ClearQuest® for Windows™ client
Using the Rational® ClearQuest® for Windows™ client, you can create three types of traditional data-push charts to help analyze your data: distribution charts, aging charts, and trend charts.
Distribution charts show the current status of change requests. Use distribution charts to show how many records fall into defined categories or match the values that you specify. For example, you can see how the workload is distributed across your team by running a distribution chart that shows the number of defects assigned to each developer.
Aging and trend charts show historical information about change requests. For example, you can run an aging chart to see how many defects your team has resolved in each month over the past year. Because aging and trend charts help you track the state-transition history of a record, only state-based records can be used to create aging and trend charts.
Use the Rational® ClearQuest® Chart wizard to define a chart. You can edit the properties (parameters, labels, display type, and style) of a chart that you created previously. After running a chart, you can filter the chart data with the Rational® ClearQuest® Query Editor.
