Administrator Guide
This guide describes how to install IBM® Rational® Functional Tester software. After you install the software, you can perform administration tasks such as license configuration and integration with other products. This guide is intended for administrators.
License management
Licensing for your installed IBM® software and customized packages is administered through the Manage Licenses wizard in the IBM Installation Manager. The Manage Licenses wizard displays license information for each installed package.
Runtime licenses enablement for testing
You can check and enable the correct runtime license to run AFT suites or parallel execution of tests on more than 5 channels.

Runtime licenses enablement for testing

You can check and enable the correct runtime license to run AFT suites or parallel execution of tests on more than 5 channels.

To check out virtual tester pack floating license keys in Windows™, you must use the IBM® Rational® License Key Administrator program to point to a Rational® License Server. Use the version of IBM® Rational® License Key Administrator that was installed with Rational® Functional Tester.

For information about IBM® Rational® License Key Administrator v 9.0, see Configuring a client by using License Key Administrator (LKAD).

There is no Linux™ version of the IBM® Rational® License Key Administrator. To check out virtual tester pack floating license keys in Linux™, you must create and edit the .flexlmrc file. Create the file .flexlmrc in the home directory of a user who runs parallel execution with more than five channels, or uses the floating license product activation. Edit the .flexlmrc file, adding a line with the computer name or the IP address of the Rational® License Server. For example, add the line RATIONAL_LICENSE_FILE=@license-server-name.com or RATIONAL_LICENSE_FILE=@license-server-ip-address.
