Installing Rational® Integration Tester Agent
Follow these instructions to install IBM® Rational® Integration Tester Agent or the IBM® Rational® Performance Tester Agent.
Before you begin
- Review the available licensing modes for the agents. During the installation, you are required to select the license mode that you are using. You cannot change the license mode after the installation and if you select the wrong license mode, the agent might not work. For information about the license modes, see Licenses for Rational Performance Test Server.
- Review the planning information in Installation planning for Rational Integration Tester Agent, if you are uninstalling an older version and installing a new version.
Download all of the files required for the installation and extract them to a repository location in the recommended structure. After downloading the core installation packages, you must create repository locations that point to the disktag.inf file in each package. If there are multiple packages, you must create repository locations for each package. If a package contains multiple disks, create repository locations pointing to each disktag.inf file or supply the information when prompted during the installation.
About this task
This procedure also contains information related to software upgrades. Before proceeding with the installation, determine if the upgrade is applicable to the version that you are installing. You cannot directly upgrade Rational® Integration Tester Agent from any of the earlier versions to the latest version. You must uninstall the existing version and then install the latest version.
By starting the installation process from the launchpad program, Installation Manager is automatically installed if it is not already on your computer, and it starts preconfigured with the repository location of the product package. If you install and start Installation Manager directly, you must set repository preferences manually.
