Rational® Integration Tester reference
Rational® Integration Tester is a scripting-free environment for developing tests for service-oriented architecture (SOA) messaging and business process integration projects. Tests can be built by recording existing system behaviors or from requirements, by entering the data to send and the data that is expected in return.

You can then use the recorded events as a source of tests and other interactions with the system. In Recording Studio, you can record the traffic over a number of different transports.

    The Test Factory perspective is one of the main areas in Rational® Integration Tester. You can create all the tests and the required artifacts/data to support them.

    Rational® Integration Tester can publish and subscribe to messages as part of a test. A message normally consists of two parts: a header and a body. The header usually adheres to a predefined logical construction, while the structure of the body can be more arbitrary.

Customizing an ISO 8583 schema

Before you import an ISO 8583 schema into Rational® Integration Tester, you must make two manual changes to the file.

About this task

Rational® Integration Tester can import an XSD file in Data Format Description Language (DFDL) that describes ISO 8583 message structures. By adding a namespace and an attribute to the file, you give Rational® Integration Tester the ability to automatically update the bitmask when it writes the ISO 8583 message.

Procedure

Using a text or XML editor, open the XSD grammar file for editing.

Add the XML namespace attribute that is shown in bold to the xsd:schema tag:

Add the bitmask attribute that is shown in bold to each bitmap in the file.
This includes the PrimaryBitmap, SecondaryBitmap, and possible TertiaryBitmap declaration.
