When you develop Java, HTML, or Terminal-based applications, you can use IBM® Rational® Functional Tester to create traditional functional tests for these applications. You must first record the tests and then use Rational Functional Tester to run the tests before you can view the test results.

Problem	Description	Solution
If your computer is locked during the playback of a functional test script, the script fails to identify the correct control and the playback fails.	The playback fails because the inputChars() or inputKeys() methods that are used in the test script do not place the cursor at the correct text entry point to enter the text when the computer is locked or inactive.	In the test script, you can replace the following methods with the setText() api method: click() & inputChars() click() & inputKeys()
