Signon Options

When configuring a Data Transfer session, you can specify the following signon parameters:

Use Kerberos principal, no prompting
This function enables Kerberos authentication, using the ticket generated by the Windows user credentials. This option is disabled by default.
Prompt as needed
The host will prompt the user for signon information. For each host, the signon dialog is presented only once during the transfer session.

User can enable or disable the “Kerberos Signon Options” using the “Kerberos auto-signon” check box provided in the “Custom” installation UI. By default, “Kerberos auto-signon” is checked and “Kerberos Signon Options” is enabled. User can disable the “Kerberos Signon Options” by unchecking the “Kerberos auto-signon” check box in the “Custom” installation UI.

For the “Typical” installation, “Kerberos Signon Options” is enabled by default and there are no UI options to enable or disable the “Kerberos Signon Options.”
Note:
The option to disable the Kerberos auto-signon checkbox in the Custom Installation UI is no longer supported starting from v16.0.2 onwards.
Silent Installation
User can enable or disable the “Kerberos Signon Options” by setting the value of “KERBEROSSIGNON” property in the custom.ini file.
By default, “Kerberos Signon Options” will be enabled and “KERBEROSSIGNON” property is set to “1” in the custom.ini file. User can disable the “Kerberos Signon Options” by setting the value of “KERBEROSSIGNON” property to “0” in the custom.ini. The user must pass custom.ini as an input during the reinstallation of Personal Communications.
Note:
The user is not be able to enable/disable the “Kerberos Signon Options“ for the Refresh Pack Installer.

LastExitView Options

During installation, users can choose whether the configuration for the Last-Exit-View settings is taken from the .ws profile or the pcswin.ini file, eliminating the need to manually edit the registry key.

Purpose:

This feature allows users to decide whether the Last-Exit-View settings are configured from .ws or pcswin.ini during installation. By default, the settings are taken from the pcswin.ini file.

Custom Installation:

  • A checkbox in the “Custom” installation UI allows users to enable or disable the “Last-Exit-View from pcswin.ini” option.
  • By default, the option is enabled (checkbox checked), and the settings are taken from the pcswin.ini file.
  • Users can disable this option by unchecking the box, which switches the settings to be taken from the .ws file.

Typical Installation:

  • For “Typical” installation, the “Last-Exit-View from pcswin.ini” option is enabled by default.
  • No UI option is provided to enable or disable this setting during the installation process.

Silent Installation:

  • Users can modify the “Last-Exit-View Options” by setting the LASTEXITVIEWFROMINI property in the custom.ini file.
  • By default, the LASTEXITVIEWFROMINI property is set to 1 (enabled).
  • To disable it, set the property value to 0 in the custom.ini file, which is used as input during the reinstallation of Personal Communications.
Note:
The “Last-Exit-View Options” cannot be changed during the installation of the Refresh Pack Installer.
