Keyboard
This policy controls the user's ability to read and change configuration information pertaining to the keyboard.
The “Not Configured” and “Disabled” options under the “Policy Editor” does not impose any policy restriction
When the Keyboard Configuration policy is enabled, the drop-down list contains the following options.
- No Access
-
The user has no access to “Keyboard Setup” dialog (“Settings” → “Keyboard…”) and change the configuration by editing the .WS file ( specifically, in the [Keyboard] stanza) and the PCSWIN.INI file.
This is the most restrictive level of control.
- Read
-
The user can only read the preconfigured information under the “Keyboard Setup” dialog and can change the configuration by editing the.WS file ( specifically, in the [Keyboard] stanza) and the PCSWIN.INI file. This is less restrictive than No Access.
- Write
- The user can read preconfigured keyboard information, and can make temporary or permanent
changes to the keyboard configuration information. This is the least restrictive item, and
is equivalent to the level of control in which users operate without policy support.
The default item for the keyboard configuration part is Write.
