Configuring Text Capture

To specify a text capture file path or name other than the default, either enter a valid directory and file name in this box, or browse to a directory and enter the file name. If the capture options are not configured, the file is written to the Windows® "My Documents" directory for the specific operating system.

If the file specified in the File Name text box already exists, you must decide if you wish new data from the ASCII host to be appended to the existing data in the file or if you wish the file cleared of the existing data before any new data is written. If you wish the existing data to be cleared, uncheck Append New Text To File. If you wish new data to be appended to the existing data, check Append New Text To File.

The default name of the capture file is the name of the .WS file used to start the session, plus the .TXT file extension. For example, if the session is started from the NewSession.ws file, the name of the default capture file is NewSession.txt. If the session has no associated file name, the file untitled.txt is created
