- Generating source code from UML models
  You can use transformations to create source code from a UML model. First you must create a transformation parameters file and then apply those parameters to a model.

  Enterprise Generation Language (EGL) is a programming language that you can use to focus on business problems instead of software technologies. Within the Rational® development environment, you can use EGL wizards and other tools to write complex applications with minimal effort.

Identifying rules that belong to a rule set

Use the built-in rule sets to identify or enable rules that belong to special categories.

About this task

The following built-in EGL rules sets are available:

High severity rules
EGL Coding Rules
Best Practices for CobolGen
Best Practices for JavaGen
Best Practices for JavaScriptGen

Procedure

To identify the rules that belong to a rule set:

On the Rules tab of the software analysis configuration window, expand the Rule Sets list.
Select a rule set, such as Best Practices for CobolGen.
In the Analysis Domains and Rules tree, the rules that belong to the selected rule set are displayed in bold.
Select Set.
The check box for each rule in the set is selected, enabling the rule.
To disable any rules in the set, clear the check boxes beside the rules.
To save the settings, click Apply.
