      If you access the web-based help for your product through a proxy server, you must manually configure the proxy settings.
    - Downloading help content from the Updater site
      You can download help content for your product from the Updater site. Most help content is not installed when you install your product. To access help content locally, you must download it from the IBM® Updater website.
    - Removing local help content
      You can use the Local Help System Updater to remove installed help content.
  - Specifying the repository
    A repository is a location for storing installation or update package data. By default, IBM® Installation Manager uses an embedded URL in each product package.
- Modifying software
  With the Modify Packages wizard in IBM® Installation Manager, you can change the language and feature selections of an installed product package. You can also use the Modify Packages wizard to install new features that might be included in a package update, such as a refresh pack.
- Updating software
  You can search for product updates and install the updates for your IBM® product.
- Reverting updates to previous versions
  You can remove an update to a package in order to revert to a previous version by using the Roll Back wizard of IBM® Installation Manager.
- Uninstalling software
  Use the IBM® Installation Manager to uninstall your product. If no other products are installed, you can uninstall Installation Manager also.
- Installing silently
  You can install a product package silently by using either Installation Manager in silent installation mode or by using IBM® Installation Manager installer. When you run Installation Manager in silent mode, the user interface is not available; instead, a response file inputs the commands that are required to install the product package.

Accessing help from an intranet

You can access the remote-based help from the IBM Rational Business Developer information center on the Internet or from an intranet sever that contains the help.

Before you begin

You must have an intranet server that contains the help content.

About this task

To access the web-based help in the information center:

Procedure

Click Help > Help > Contents.
Select one of the configuration settings:
- Include remote help and give local help priority
- Include remote help and give it priority
Specify the location of the web-based help.
- If the desired location is in the list, make sure that it is enabled. To enable the location, select the location and click Enable.
- If the desired location is not in the list, complete the following steps:
  1. Click New.
  2. Enter the following information about the new location:
    - Name: The name of the location
    - Host: The location of the host server that contains the help
    - Path: The path of the help on the server
    - Protocol: The protocol can be http or https
