IMSGROUP=identifier
- IMSGROUP
- If the IMS™ subsystem is a member of an IMSGROUP, specify the 1- to 4-character IMSGROUP identifier. Otherwise, do not specify any values for this parameters.
This parameter is supported only in BMP mode and can be specified only on the FMN1POPI macro statement. The IMSGROUP value specified onFMN1POPI must match the value defined for the corresponding IMSID in the DFSPBxxx member. You cannot override the value specified for this parameter.
Defining an IMSGROUP in the FM/IMS installation options module
Suppose that three IMS subsystems—IFA1, IFA2, and IFA3—are members of IMSGROUP IMSA. To allow FM/IMS to connect to an active member of the group, define the FMN1POPI entries in the preferred connection order, as shown in the following example.
FMNPOPI SSID= 1, ← First Preference
IMSGROUP=IMSA,
DESC='IMS V14',
LIB1=IMS.IFA1.SDFSRESL,
...
FMN1POPI SSID=IFA2, ← Second preference
IMSGROUP=IMSA,
DESC='IMS V15',
LIB1=IMS.IFA2.SDFSRESL,
...
FMN1POPI SSID=IFA3, ← Third preference
IMSGROUP=IMSA,
DESC='IMS V15',
LIB1=IMS.IFA3.SDFSRESL,
When the user specifies IMSA as the IMS subsystem name in BMP mode,FM/IMS
scans the group members in the order they are defined in the installation options module and connects to the first active member:
IFA1 status IFA2 status IFA3 status FM/IMS connects to
ACTIVE ACTIVE ACTIVE IFA1 (first in sequence)
INACTIVE ACTIVE ACTIVE IFA2 (first active in sequence)
INACTIVE INACTIVE ACTIVE IFA3 (first active in sequence)
INACTIVE INACTIVE INACTIVE Error - All members inactive
Note:
If a member SSID has the same name as the IMSGROUP name, for
example,
SSID=IFF1 and IMSGROUP=IFF1, define that
entry first in the installation options module. This ensures that FM/IMS connects directly to the IMS
subsystem when it is active. If the IMS subsystem is inactive, FM/IMS continues scanning the remaining
FMN1POPI entries in sequence.
