Processing an z/FS file

File Manager allows for various processing at record level. A record simulated in an z/FS file can be subject to the same processing as a record belonging to an z/OS® data set. The similarity at record level enable z/FS files to be viewed, edited, copied, and compared using the same functions and panels as z/OS® data sets. Also, the same rules for using templates and manipulating data apply. Some specific differences are mentioned in the following sections.
