About integration packages, configuration, and testing
Before integration, you must ensure that the data from the integrated application is compatible with the code page for the ClearQuest® database. If you add additional record types after adding a package, you can enable the package functionality for those record types using the Designer.
Dependent integrations
Dependent integrations require adding packages to your schema in a specific order. Additional Rational® ClearQuest® configuration might be required as well. The installation process is different for each dependent integration.

Dependent integrations

Dependent integrations require adding packages to your schema in a specific order. Additional Rational® ClearQuest® configuration might be required as well. The installation process is different for each dependent integration.

Dependent integrations supported by Rational® ClearQuest® include:

Administrator

Associates Rational® ClearQuest® projects with Rational® ClearQuest® databases.
DevOps Code ClearCase® Unified Change Management (UCM)

Links ClearCase® UCM projects and activities to ClearQuest® records.

Important: Plan carefully before adding packages to your schema because you cannot remove a package after adding it. Instead, you must delete all schema versions in which the package exists. You can delete schema versions only if you have not applied these to a user database.

You must have Super User or Schema Designer privileges to add packages.

It is a best practice to add an integration to a test database to familiarize yourself with its features. After, you can add the integration to your production database. See Testing integrations.
