Mixed character-set deployments

Rational® ClearQuest® supports only one character set for a database set. However, Rational® ClearQuest® does allow connections to the database set even if the local code page of the client is different from theRational® ClearQuest® data code page of the database set. This support is called a mixed-character-set deployment.

In mixed-character-set deployments, all Rational® ClearQuest® applications can read and modify data according to the characters of the data code page.

Attention: Due to mixed character set considerations, there are limitations on Rational® ClearQuest® Mail Reader support for the Messaging API (MAPI) standard.
