Results of Rational® ClearQuest® data code page selection

Assignment of the data code page value affects your databases in the following ways:

Rational® ClearQuest® validates all data entry, including the data entered through the Rational® ClearQuest® Web client or the Rational® ClearQuest® E-Mail Reader. Data entered from integrations, such as the Rational® ClearQuest® integration with DevOps Code ClearCase®, is also validated. If you set the Rational® ClearQuest® data code page value to one that does not match the local character set of the system on the integrated software is running, you might not be able to transfer integration-generated data into the database. See Rational ClearQuest integrations and data code pages.
Rational® ClearQuest® does not validate the data in attachments (for example, in a Word document attached to a Rational® ClearQuest® record). To include characters that are excluded from the Rational® ClearQuest® data code page, you can enter them in an attachment. However, you cannot query for data stored in attachments, and reports and charts do not make use of this data.
