Upgrading DevOps Code ClearCase® in non-global zones

To upgrade DevOps Code ClearCase® in an environment that is configured with non-global zones, follow the steps in this procedure.

About this task

Note: Follow the instructions mentioned in this section to upgrade ClearCase® in a kernel zone. You can upgrade the version of ClearCase® in a kernel zone independently, without changing the global zone or any other non-global zone on that global zone.

Before you can upgrade a non-global zone, you must stop ClearCase® in all such zones and upgrade the global zone. If the non-global zone that you are upgrading is a branded zone, verify that the intended ClearCase® version supports the operating systems of both the branded and global zones.

Procedure

  1. Stop instances of DevOps Code ClearCase® on all non-global zones.
  2. On the global zone:
    1. Stop DevOps Code ClearCase®.
    2. Upgrade DevOps Code ClearCase®.
    3. Restart DevOps Code ClearCase®.
  3. On each non-global zone:
    1. Upgrade DevOps Code ClearCase®.
    2. Restart DevOps Code ClearCase®.

Results

After you complete the upgrade, you can resume DevOps Code ClearCase® operations.
