To create activities from the Rational® ClearQuest® client (Rational® ClearQuest® enabled)

About this task

To create activities from the Rational® ClearQuest® client while Rational® ClearQuest® is enabled, perform the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Start the Rational® ClearQuest® client.
  2. In the Rational® ClearQuest® client window, click Actions > New.
  3. In the Choose a Record Type window, select an appropriate record type that is enabled for UCM. (Your project manager sets up the record types that are in your Rational® ClearQuest® user database.) Then click OK.

    The required fields and the fields that contain invalid values are highlighted in red. If a field contains an invalid value, you can right-click the field and then click Error Message to see any message or explanation that your project manager may have included. If you have questions about what type of information a field requires, right-click the field and then click Help.

  4. Complete the required fields in the Rational® ClearQuest® user database Submit form.
  5. In the UCM Project list, select your project. (Your project manager determines the location for this list while creating the corresponding record type.) Then click OK.

Results

After you create an activity from the Rational® ClearQuest® user database, you must complete an additional procedure to make the activity appear in MyToDoList or, on Windows systems, in MyActivities.
