Overview of working with checkouts
After you check out a file, you do not need to use DevOps Code ClearCase® procedures until you are ready to check it in. However, you may want to use some DevOps Code ClearCase® tools for the following tasks:
- Viewing element history
- Comparing versions of elements
- Tracking checked-out versions
If you work in a UCM environment, you may want to use some DevOps Code ClearCase® tools for the following tasks as well:
- Viewing an activity change set
- Moving versions to a different activity
Tip: Some cleartool commands include a -graphical option,
which starts a tool for completing the task.
