Before logging in to a Rational® ClearQuest® user database

The first time you perform a DevOps Code ClearCase® operation that involves the base ClearCase® integration with Rational® ClearQuest®, you are prompted to enter your Rational® ClearQuest® user ID and password, and a database name.

A database stores Rational® ClearQuest® user IDs and passwords. (Your standard network user ID and password are used). Ensure that your Rational® ClearQuest® administrator has added a user ID and password to the Rational® ClearQuest® user ID and password database for you.

When you are prompted, enter your Rational® ClearQuest® user ID in this window; your login information is stored so that you do not need to be prompted again during DevOps Code ClearCase® operations. Thereafter, the integration uses the stored information instead of prompting you for it.

If you change your password or connect to a different Rational® ClearQuest® user database, the next time that the integration is involved in a DevOps Code ClearCase® operation that you perform, you see an error message and a prompt to reenter the login information. The integration updates the stored information.
