  DevOps Code ClearCase® provides a flexible set of tools that your organization uses to implement its development and change management policies.

  DevOps Code ClearCase® provides two clients for software developers: local and remote. Each client supports different mechanisms for accessing source-controlled filesystem objects. Both clients provide graphical and command-line interfaces.

    DevOps Code ClearCase® provides configuration management services that make it easy for development teams to work with resources in a shared repository. With the ClearTeam® Explorer, developers can access DevOps Code ClearCase from a variety of network connections, including broadband (WAN) and traditional local area networks (LANs). The ClearTeam Explorer also supports WAN access to Rational® ClearQuest® user databases.

It automates the processes of finding the versions that require a merge, starting a merge, and tracking the progress of a merge. It allows you to suspend and resume merges as needed.

      Use the ClearCase® View Configuration view to edit the version selection rules and load rules for a view.

      Use this ClearTeam Explorer view to create a new policy.

      Use the Apply Label wizard to apply a label to one or more ClearCase® resources at the same time.
    - ClearCase® Dialog Boxes
      The ClearTeam® Explorer uses dialog boxes to provide access to ClearCase® operations.
      - Log in
        Depending on the node that is currently selected in your ClearTeam Navigator view, you can use this dialog box to log in to a CCRC WAN server or a ClearQuest® server.
      - Upgrade Copy Area
        Use this dialog box to upgrade your view to be compatible with the current ClearTeam® Explorer.
      - Update URL
        Use this dialog box to update the URL for the selected CCRC WAN server.
      - Load Resources
        Use this dialog box to load resources into a ClearCase® Web view or snapshot view. You can also load resources into an automatic view, but it is not necessary insofar as automatic view resources are loaded implicitly by browsing them.
      - Update Resources
        Use this dialog box to update a ClearCase® web view, automatic view, or snapshot view or selected resources within such view types.
      - Restore Resources
        You restore a view's resources to reconcile disagreements between client and server about the state of the resources. Such disagreements are called discordances and can affect only web views and automatic views.
      - Add Resources to Source Control
        Use this dialog box to add view-private resources (files and directories that are in a view but not under ClearCase® control) to ClearCase.
      - Controls in the checkout dialog box
        Check out a resource when you want to modify it.
      - Undo Checkout
        Use the Undo Checkout dialog box to cancel checkouts for one or more checked-out resources.
      - Choose version to check out
        When your view does not contain the latest version of an element you are attempting to check out, use this dialog box to specify whether DevOps Code ClearCase® should check out the version currently loaded in your view or check out the latest version from the VOB.
      - Check in
        Check in resources to commit your modifications to the repository (VOB).
      - Hijack
        To modify a resource that you cannot check out because you are disconnected from the VOB server (in the case of a snapshot view) or from the CCRC WAN server (in the cases of a web view or automatic view).
      - Undo Hijack
        Use the Undo Hijack dialog box to replace a hijacked file with the currently selected version from the VOB when using Web views.
      - Create working set
        Create a working set when you want the ClearTeam Navigator view to display only the selected nodes and the resources under those node in the hierarchy. You can set the ClearTeam Navigator to a different working set or back to the Default Working Set at any time.
      - Edit Working Set
        Use the Edit Working Set dialog box to add nodes to a working set, to replace the nodes in a working set, or to remove nodes from a working set.
      - Manage Working Sets
        Use the Manage Working Sets dialog box to delete a working set, import or export a working set, or edit the name of a working set.
      - Rebase Stream
        Use the Rebase Stream dialog box to rebase a UCM stream to the parent stream's recommended baseline or to a different baseline.
      - Rebase Results
        Results of a Rebase are displayed in the Rebase Results view.
      - Rebase
        Specifies the outcome of a rebase operation.
      - Deliver from Stream
        Use the Deliver from Stream dialog box to deliver your work from a UCM development view.
      - Select an existing stream
        Select a stream for a deliver operation.
      - Default Deliver
        Specify the target for a default deliver operation.
      - Reset Deliver to Another View
        Use the Reset Deliver to Another View dialog box to change the target view for a deliver operation already in progress.
      - Deliver Results
        Results of a Deliver are displayed in the Deliver Results view.
      - ClearCase® Posted Deliveries view
        Use the DevOps Code ClearCase® Posted Deliveries view to complete a remote deliver operation.
      - Deliver
        Specifies the outcome of a deliver operation.
      - Element Log
        The Element Log dialog box displays the transcript of ClearCase® operations performed on an element during a rebase or deliver operation.
      - Create Label Type
        Use the Create Label Type dialog to create new label types.
      - Create Branch Type
        Use the Create Branch Type dialog to create a new branch type.
      - Remove Label Type
        Use the Remove Label Type dialog to remove label types in a base ClearCase® (non-UCM project) VOB.
      - Create Hyperlink Type
        Use the Create Hyperlink Type dialog box to create a hyperlink type for future use within a VOB.
      - Remove Hyperlink Types
        Use the Remove Hyperlink Types dialog box to remove one or more hyperlink types from the current VOB.
      - Remove Branch Type
        Use the Remove Branch Type dialog to remove branch types in a base ClearCase® (non-UCM project) VOB.

      - Repair Discordance
        Use this dialog box to repair resources in a ClearCase® automatic view or web view that are in a discordant state.

        Use the Apply Label dialog box to select a label and attach it to a version.
      - Make Baseline
        Use the Make Baseline dialog to create a UCM baseline for the selected stream.
      - Recommend Baselines
        Use the Recommend Baselines dialog to recommend a set of baselines for components in a UCM project.
      - Select Baseline
        Use the Select Baseline dialog to select a baseline to recommend.
      - Compare Baselines view
        The ClearCase® Compare Baselines view displays differences between two resources (baselines or streams) in ClearCase UCM.
      - Move
        Use the Move dialog box to change the location of a resource.
      - Remove
        Use this dialog box to remove a resource from DevOps Code ClearCase®.
      - Rename
        Use this dialog box to change the name of a resource.
      - Create VOB Symbolic Link
        Use the Create VOB Symbolic Link dialog box to create a relative symbolic link (symlink) in a Versioned Object Base (VOB).
      - Choose Version
        Enter the version of the element that you want to compare the selected version to.
      - Find an activity
        Use this dialog box to select an existing activity from the current stream. The activity you select is associated with the changes that you are making.
      - ClearQuest® Details view
        The Rational® ClearQuest® Details view displays information about a ClearQuest record.
      - Find a ClearQuest® record
        Use this dialog box to select an existing Rational® ClearQuest® record. The record you select is associated with the changes that you are making.
      - Find a ClearQuest® record ID
        Use this dialog box to find a Rational® ClearQuest® record ID using DevOps Code ClearCase®.
      - Select a ClearQuest® UCM-enabled record type
        Use this dialog box to select a Rational® ClearQuest® UCM-enabled record type.
      - View recent records
        Use this dialog box to view and open recent Rational® ClearQuest® records using DevOps Code ClearCase®.
      - Work on
        Use this dialog box to select a DevOps Code ClearCase® view. An activity that is associated with the Rational® ClearQuest® UCM-enabled record that you chose to work on is set to this view.
      - New record
        Use this dialog box to create a new DevOps Code ClearCase® record from the ClearTeam Navigator.
      - New record (UCM)
        Use this dialog box to enter details and create a new Rational® ClearQuest® UCM-enabled record.
    - ClearCase® properties view
      The DevOps Code ClearCase® properties view displays properties of elements, versions, VOBs, and ClearCase views. Some properties of elements, versions, and VOBs can be modified by a user with adequate privileges.
    - Pending Changes view
      The Pending Changes view enables you to preview and accept all changes to your view, to resolve conflicts, and to synchronize changes in both the Base ClearCase® and UCM environments.
    - Compare/Merge view
      The Compare/Merge view displays contributor and/or output files for either compare operations or merge operations, depending on the context in which the view was accessed.

Use this dialog box to create a new DevOps Code ClearCase® record from the ClearTeam Navigator.

Select a ClearQuest® record type in the list box and click OK. The ClearQuest® New Record form appears which you can use to create a new ClearQuest® Record.
