Customizing a client host environment for DevOps Code ClearCase®
If you are installing for the first time on your client host, you might want to customize your environment to make it easier to use DevOps Code ClearCase®.
Access to DevOps Code ClearCase® programs and online documentation (reference pages) depends on specific environment variable settings. The most reliable way to establish these settings is to edit your shell startup script.
| Shell program | Startup script in home directory |
|---|---|
| C shell | .cshrc |
| Bourne shell | .profile |
| Korn shell | .profile |
Note: C shell users must avoid placing DevOps Code ClearCase® settings
in the .login file, which is run only by login
shells.
Startup scripts are not available for Windows™ operating systems.
