  - Plan your upgrade
    Before you begin upgrading the DevOps Code ClearCase® and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite software, learn about the upgrade process, complete any prerequisite tasks, and create an upgrade plan.
  - Upgrade DevOps Code ClearCase® with the Installation Manager
    Use IBM® Installation Manager to upgrade and modify DevOps Code ClearCase® product features in an existing installation.
  - Importing permanent authorized user keys
    Using email, file attachments, or LKAD to import permanent authorized user license keys.
  - Returning or moving license keys
    If you must upgrade your license keys, replace an old license server, or move the license keys to another computer, you must perform a floating or authorized user license key return transaction in License Key Center.

    On Windows platforms, download and install License Key Administrator for managing licenses with IBM Common Licensing.
  - Installation Manager install methods
    You can install and manage product installations with Installation Manager by using any of these methods: silently from a response file, from the Linux or UNIX console, or from the Installation Manager wizard.
  - Prepare the WebSphere® Application Server environment
    Before you install or upgrade DevOps Code ClearCase® web features, install or upgrade to a supported version of IBM® WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, and Web Plug-ins for IBM WebSphere.
  - Integrating DevOps Code ClearCase® with Cadence Virtuoso
    The DevOps Code ClearCase® Cadence Virtuoso Integration is available as a separate extension offering and can be independently installed and uninstalled using IBM Installation Manager. This mechanism allows you to upgrade the integration bits without the need to upgrade the underlying ClearCase.
  - Configure your environment after installation or upgrade
    For some types of DevOps Code ClearCase® and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite hosts, some configuration tasks are required after you complete a product installation or upgrade operation.
    - Completing the installation on a license server host
      If you are using the ClearCase® licensing model (called the Atria licensing model), create a license database file on each host that you have selected to be a license server host. This file must contain the license authorization code obtained from IBM®.
    - Completing the installation on a registry server host
      To complete installation of a registry server host, you must create a VOB-tag password file on that registry server host.
    - Verifying installation on individual hosts
      Perform these tasks to determine whether DevOps Code ClearCase® is properly configured for an individual host. On Linux and UNIX systems, enter the commands listed in a shell. On Windows™, enter them at the command prompt.

    - Restoring customer-modified shipping configuration files in DevOps Code ClearCase® MultiSite
      If you are upgrading from an earlier release of DevOps Code ClearCase® MultiSite and have modified the shipping server configuration file (shipping.conf) or the request for mastership shipping configuration file (rfm_shipping.conf), the installation detects the changes. The installation log provides information about how to compare the new configuration template and the preserved file and merge changes from the back up into the new file if required.
    - WebSphere® Application Server settings for CCRC WAN server
      Review IBM® WebSphere Application Server settings for the application server profile for the ClearCase® CCRC WAN server. If you installed ClearCase into a new profile, the settings in the profile created during installation have been optimized for best performance. If you installed ClearCase into an existing profile or if the server has performance problems, the parameter values might require adjustment.
