Playing back mobile tests on an Android device or emulator on the Perfecto Mobile cloud
After you record a mobile test, you can play back the recorded mobile test on an Android device or emulator that is connected to the Perfecto Mobile cloud. You can then generate the test result in your local computer to analyze and evaluate the result.
Before you begin
- Created a mobile test.
- Installed the APK file of the Android application that you want to test on an Android device or emulator on Perfecto Mobile cloud. For information, refer to Manage Apps in the Perfecto documentation.
- Enabled the Perfecto device cloud environment in Preferences. See Running Web UI tests on Perfecto mobile cloud.
Procedure
- Go to the Web UI Test perspective in Rational® Functional Tester.

Open the mobile test from the Test Navigator pane.
The test window is displayed.

Click Run Test
.
The Run Configuration dialog box is displayed.
- Click the Run using drop-down list and select the Android device or emulator on the Perfecto Mobile cloud.

Click Next and Finish.
The playing back of the test starts on the Perfecto Mobile cloud on the selected Android device or emulator.Note: You can also include mobile tests in a Compound Test and run each mobile test on a different Android device or emulator connected to the Perfecto Mobile cloud. You can specify the Android device or Emulator on which you want you want to run each mobile test by using the Run using drop-down list in the Run Configuration dialog box of a Compound Test.
Results
What to do next
- The details and screen capture that are associated with each test step. To view these details, you can click each test step in the Details pane.
- Android device or emulator on which the test was played back. To view the device or emulator, you can click the icon.
- Test information such as AUT, host computer, and duration of the test. To view such information, you can click the icon.
- All the screen captures in a slide show format. To view the screen captures, you can click the icon.
